The year 2013 can be defined as a time of international political transition, bringing new waves in Asia. Governmental transitions in major countries such as the US, Japan, China, Russia, and both Koreas have
been completed. New policies of key actors in the region will bring about changes in the international role of the Asia-Pacific area as well. Leaders of the Asia-Pacific region will deliver keynote speeches on their views of the changing role of Asia in the international community and their vision for regional cooperation in Asia. These views will be discussed in detail during the following World Leaders’ Session.
