Economic capacities, trade, and people-to-people exchanges in East Asia are steadily growing. Rich human resources, advanced technologies, and unique cultures provide another reservoir of the unlimited potential of the region. To maximize this potential, East Asian states need to overcome the “Asia paradox” and discuss ways to share a vision for the future of the region. Against this backdrop, the “Regional Cooperation and Middle Power Diplomacy for Building a New Asia” session will provide a venue for exchanging valuable opinions about the future of the region, and seek the middle powers’ role as an honest broker and facilitator in building a New Asia.
