Multi-destination trips are not rare in some parts of the world. For instance, Europe facilitated cross-border tourism by introducing various directives and creating high-tech transportation systems like Eurostar, attracting foreign visitors from within the region and from non-European countries. Promoting tourism cooperation in Northeast Asia can contribute to the region's presentation as an attractive destination for foreign visitors. China, Japan, and Korea may share the economic benefits generated through cooperative marketing of multi-destination tourism products in East Asia. This session will convene experts, including representatives from government agencies and academia, to explore means to develop multi-destination travel opportunities in East Asia and learn from existing examples of intra-regional cooperation and the consequential development of national tourism industries.
