Korean unification has been one of the major security issues in Northeast Asia. Recently, as it has become an important discourse in South Korean politics, debates on scenarios and their processes have ensued. Attitudes and policies of the neighboring superpowers toward Korean unification and unification formulas are significant. The U.S.-ROK alliance, which has been firmly sustained for over sixty years, is of great significance since its role in the unification process and formation after unification are expected to be critical in the future of the Korean Peninsula and Northeast Asia. In this session, experts from the U.S., China, Japan, and Korea gather to discuss the role and future of the U.S.-ROK alliance in the unification process of the Korean Peninsula.
