Denuclearization session track organized

Following the inter-Korean summit talks on April 27, a possible peace regime on the Korea
peninsula is drawing the world’s attention, amid rife speculations and views on the
denuclearization issue. The upcoming Jeju Forum for Peace and Prosperity from June 26 to
28 will focus on the denuclearization of and peace on the Korean peninsula in 11 sessions
about the issue on a single track. This would, therefore, provide a chance for those who are
interested in the possibility of a peace regime on the Korean peninsula to gain an in-depth
overview of the issue.

The sessions on June 26, the first day of the Forum, are “Strategy to Pursue Denuclearization
and a Peace Regime on the Korean Peninsula” organized by the Korea Institute for National
Unification; “The Summits and Beyond: Continuity and Change of North Korea” organized by
the East Asia Foundation; “Denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and the Domestic
Politics of Neighboring Countries: Focusing on the U.S., Japan, China, and Russia” organized
by Jeju Peace Institute and The Korean Association of International Studies; and “At a

maintain cooperation with its neighboring countries.

Special Representative for North Korea Policy and Jeffrey Feltman, former UN Under-

Menon, former national security adviser of India; John Ikenberry, professor of politics and
international affairs at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at

University; and Chang Daljoong, Professor Emeritus of Political Science and International
Relations at Seoul National University. This panel seeks to assess the major achievements of
three recent summit meetings and to discuss the future prospects for inter-Korean and U.S.-
DPRK relations, not to mention Chinese-DPRK relations. Moon Chung-in, special advisor to
President Moon Jae-in for foreign affairs and security; and Philip Zelikow, former counselor
