[Center for International Law, Korea National Diplomatic Academy 국립외교원 국제법센터]<BR><BR>As the most populous and economically dynamic region on the planet, East Asia arguably benefits most from the security and economic dividends provided by international law and institutions, and yet is the wariest about embracing those rules and structures. In this regards, East Asian states are the least likely of any regional grouping to be party to most international obligations or to have representation reflecting their number and size in international organizations. There is no regional framework comparable to the AU, the OAS, or the EU. In this session, we will delineate progresses, challenges, and roles of international laws in East Asia.<BR><BR>동아시아는 지구상에서 인구가 가장 많고 경제적으로 역동성이 높은 지역으로 안보와 경제 측면에서 국제법과 국제제도가 제공하는 혜택을 향유하고 있으면서도 국제법적 규범과 시스템을 확립하는 데에 는 미온적이다. 같은 맥락에서 현재 동아시아 국가 들은 대부분의 국제의무나 국제기구의 당사자가 되는 것에 소극적이며, 동아시아 지역에는 아프리카연합, 미주기구, 유럽연합과 같은 지역적 협력체 또한 부재한 상황이다. 따라서 이 세션에서는 동아시아의 국제법 발전, 과제, 시사점을 탐색해 보고자 한다.
