FORUM

The 7th Jeju Forum for Peace and Prosperity reviewed these changes within historic context and highlight the future of Asia. The work of the forum was to pursue peace and common prosperity of the region on the basis of a sense of community. The interdependence and cultural fusion in Asia are surely contribute to the promotion of this sense of community. The issue of common prosperity was addressed and the potentiality of new growth on the basis of Asian entrepreneurship was explored. New growth engines, future of the IT industry, environmental conservation, sustainable management, financial cooperation, official development assistance, welfare expansion, city design, and the role of women are among the forum's topic.

ODA is a global public goods in that it provides collective benefits to the international community via poverty reduction. Globalization means interdependence and connectivity between subjects and issues, and the exchange of knowledge and information, and the construction of cooperative networks are essential to survival and prosperity.
Reknowned scholars and policy experts from Korea, China, and Japan will present at this session, and discuss on the strong and weak points of the three countries’ ODA policies and grope for the ways to promote policy enhancement.
The first presentation is on the Korean ODA policy in the context of global governance, and the second, on a Chinese ODA policy as a means to supply global public goods.

빈곤 감소가 국제사회에 공동이익을 제공한다는 점에서 ODA는 글로벌 공공재의 성격을 갖습니다. 국가 간 그리고 영역 간 상호 의존과 연계가 점차 심화되는 세계화 시대에 정보 및 지식의 교환 그리고 상호 협력 네트워크의 구축은 생존과 번영에 필수적인 요건이 되었습니다 본 세션에서는 한국, 일본, 중국의 대외원조 관련 전문가와 연구자를 초청해, 글로벌 공공재 공급을 목적으로 한 동북아 3국 ODA정책의 장단점을 비교하고 발전방안을 논의하고자 합니다. 첫 발표에서는 한국의 ODA 정책과 글로벌 거버넌스를 주제로, 그리고 둘째 발표에서는 중국의 ODA 정책을 주제로 발표와 토론이 진행됩니다. 발표 및 종합토론은 세션 34에서 계속됩니다
