[Closing Session] Towards a Universal Model of Reconciliation, Peace, and Healing: From Jeju to the World		 Grand Ballroom
현대사의 큰 비극으로 남은 4‧3사건의 현장인 제주가 4‧3의 핵심 정신인 생명과 인권, 용서와 관용, 화해와 상생, 평화와 공존, 자치와 자율을 기반으로, 이제 평화의 가치를 국제사회에 공유하는 주체로 거듭나고자 한다.
이 세션은 전세계 대표적인 과거 극복모델인 대한민국 제주와 독일 그리고 남아프리카공화국의 인사들과 함께 그들의 경험과 지혜를 공유하며 아시아를 넘어 세계로 함께 발신하는 계기가 될 것이다.
제주 4‧3이 갖는 생명과 자치, 평화와 화해, 자치와 연대의 깊은 울림과 목소리를 전하며 제16회 제주포럼의 대장정을 마감하고자 한다.

Jeju Island is remembered as a historical site of April 3rd Mass Killing that happened 73 years ago, in 1948. Now, it is set to reinvent itself as an exemplary model to share the value of peace with the global community. We would like to share values of life and humanity, forgiveness and tolerance, reconciliation and prosperity, peace and coexistence, and democracy and autonomy derived from the spirits of the Jeju April 3rd Incident and Movement during this session.
To that end, we will invite the key leaders and scholars from the three representative cases and countries of overcoming the past wrong doings during the 20th century ? Germany(Holocaust), South Africa(Apartheid), and Korea(April 3rd Mass Killing).
This closing session will provide us with an opportunity to share those values with the citizens around the world and invoke and touch upon the soul of humanity and solidarity of us as a humankind.
