FORUM

At the forum, domestic and international participants from 60 sessions dealt with various issues ranging from international cooperation & security, economy & business, culture, gender, community development, and the environment, and had wide discussions on regional and global cooperation and challenges beyond the Asia’s paradox for new Asia. And the Trilateral cooperation Secretariat participated in the forum for the first time, organizing 3 concurrent sessions, and contributed to the Jeju Forum’s goal of peace and prosperity in Korea, Japan, and China.

The purpose of this forum is to introduce the significance and necessity of the DMZ International Peace Park, as well as set specific plans for its establishment. By doing so, it focuses on raising the awareness of both domestic and international stakeholders, and at the same time garnering support from the public. Also, this forum will seek measures to urge North Korea's active participation in the DMZ project. By watching a video on the “DMZ International Peace park”, we will have the opportunity to discuss the significance and promotion of the DMZ International Peace Park for the press.

DMZ세계평화공원의 의의와 필요성, 실천방안을 제시하여 국내외적 차원에서 동 사업에 대한 인식을 확대함과 동시에 지지여론과 공감대를 형성합니다. 또한 북한이 동 사업에 대해 적극성을 보이도록 촉구합니다. DMZ세계평화공원이 현 정부의 역점 국정 과제인 만큼 이러한 내용으로 세션이 진행될 예정입니다. 제주포럼 공식만찬에서 “DMZ세계평화공원”에 관한 동영상을 상영하고, 공식 프레스 컨퍼런스에서 언론을 대상으로 “DMZ세계평화공원의 의의와 추진방안”에 관해 논의할 수 있는 자리를 마련하고자 합니다.
