Dong-Hwi Lee is the Vice Chairman of the Korean Council on Foreign Relations, and a Professor Emeritus at KNDA-IFANS, a branch of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Korea. He was dean of research at the IFANS with a deputy ministerial rank from 2000 to 2004. He was also a senior associate to the Korea Chair at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, DC from 2009-2011, and a senior visiting scholar in 2009 with the G8 and G20 Research Groups of the Munk School of Global Affairs, Univ. of Toronto, Canada. His research interests include the political economy of East Asia, with special focus on North Korea and China, global governance, regional cooperation and analysis of international negotiation. He has written numerous articles on various topics, such as “Global Governance as a Way of Balancing Sovereignty with Global Responsibility”(2012), “Ensuring Security in the Middle East, Northeast Asia and Worldwide”(2012), “Global Security and the Korean Peninsula”(2011). He holds a Ph.D. in political science from Northwestern University and a B.A. in economics from Seoul National University.

이동휘 현 한국외교협회 부회장은 2016년까지 국립외교원 외교안보연구소 교수로 재직하였으며 외교안보연구원 연구실장(2000~2004)을 역임하고, 현재 국립외교원 명예교수이다. 이외에 한국협상학회 회장(1999), 한국국제정치학회 부회장(2008)을 역임하였다. 이 밖에도 미국전략문제연구소, 벨기에 자유브뤼셀대학 유럽학연구소, 루방대학 동아시아연구원에서 초빙연구원을 지냈으며 1994~1997년 대통령자문 정책기획위원회의 위원으로 활동하기도 하였다. 이동휘 부회장은 서울대 경제학과를 졸업하여 1985년 미국 노스웨스턴대학교에서 정치학 박사를 받았다. 주요 저서로는 『새로운 통일외교의 모색』, 『협상은 문화다』, 『동아시아협력의 정치경제』, 『국제기구와 한국외교』 등이 있다.
