Goh Chok Tong served as Singapore’s second Prime Minister for fourteen years from 1990 to 2004, with his ample experience built during his terms as Minister of Finance, Minister for Trade and Industry, Minister for Health, and Minister for Defense. Despite of series of national crises such as Asian financial crisis in 1997 and SARS outbreak in 2003, Goh has been credited for his skilled managements. After resigning from Prime Minister, he served as Senior Minister and Chairman of the Monetary Authority and currently holds title of Emeritus Senior Minister of Singapore.
