Nyamosor Tuya served as Mongolia’s first woman Foreign Minister in 1998-2000 and actively promoted Mongolia’s engagement with multilateral processes of economic and security cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region. Her previous positions included Director of Policy Planning at the Foreign Ministry and a tour at Mongolia’s Mission to the United Nations. Ms Tuya represented Mongolia at the 2010 NPT Review Conference. After leaving government, she continued to work on regional issues at Track 1.5 and Track 2 levels as member of the Mongolian Council for Security Cooperation in the Asia-Pacific (CSCAP) and of the Asia-Pacific Leadership Network for Nuclear Nonproliferation and Disarmament (APLN).

Tuya’s non-governmental activities include advisory roles in civil society organizations, consultancy and teaching. She was active in the areas of political party development, democracy education, and women’s participation.
Tuya is fluent in English, French, and Russian and studied political theory and international relations in Russia, the U.K. and the U.S.A. She also studied French culture and civilization at the Sorbonne, France.

투야는 시민사회단체, 자문회사, 교육 분야에서 고문 역할을 하는 비정부적 활동도 이어나갔다. 그녀는 정당 발전, 민주주의 교육, 여성 참여와 같은 분야에서 두각을 드러냈다.

투야는 영어, 불어, 러시아어에 능통하며 러시아, 영국, 미국에서 정치이론과 국제관계를, 프랑스 소르본에서 프랑스 문화문명을 연구했다.
