Ambassador SUH, Jeong-in obtained his M.A degree from George Washington University in the United States in 1992. In his diplomatic service career, he started working at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) in 1988 after passing the High Diplomatic Service Examination in the same year. During his time at the MOFA, Ambassador SUH served various roles and functions at headquarter and overseas missions before being appointed as the Republic of Korea’s Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary to ASEAN in 2015. He was also stationed in Indonesia, Australia, Japan and Thailand. At headquarter, he was Director, Deputy Director-General, and Director-General to oversee Southeast Asia and ASEAN. In December 2015, he was awarded the Order of Service Merit (Red Strips) for his role to organize and convene the Korea-ASEAN Commemorative Summit in November, 2014.
<BR><BR>서정인 주아세안 대사는 1988년에 외무고시를 합격하여 외교부 근무를 시작하였으며, 20년이 넘는 근무기간 동안 외교부 본부 및 해외 공관에서 다양한 업무를 담당했다. 서정인 대사는 외교부 공보과장 및 동남아과장, 남아시아태평양국 심의관 및 국장을 역임하였으며, 인도네시아, 호주, 일본, 태국 등에서도 근무하였다. 서정인 대사는 2015년 주아세안 대한민국대표부의 2대 대사로 임명되어 아세안 사무국의 위치한 인도네시아 자카르타에 부임하였다. 서정인 대사는 남아시아태평양국 국장 재직시 ‘2014년 한-아세안 특별정상회의’를 성공적으로 개최하는데 기여하여 2015년 홍조근정 훈장을 수여 받았다.
