이성호 교수는 대학과 대학원에서 건축과 도시설계을 전공했다. 2001년부터 제주관광대학교 교수로 재직 중 2003년부터 12년간 제주디자인혁신센터를 운영하였다. 디자인은 제주의 경쟁력과 정체성을 드러낼 수 있는 아주 중요한 요소라 판단하여 제주디자인대전 개최, 디자인지원사업 추진, 디자인기업육성 등의 다양한 디자인지원정책과 지원사업을 추진하였다. 또한 제주의 경관계획수립과 도시계획에도 참여하여 디자인의 적용 범위를 넓혀가고 있다. “제주를 디자인하다”라는 개념 아래 다양한 범위에 디자인을 접목하고 있다.

Professor Seongho Lee majored and acquired doctoral degree in architecture and Urban Design. Served as a professor in Jeju tourism University since 2001, he operated the Jeju Design Innovation Center for 12 years from 2003. Considering design as an important factor to show competitiveness and identity of Jeju, various design policies and supporting projects were promoted by him. This includes holding Jeju Design Exhibition, promoting design support projects, and fostering design companies. In addition, he expanded the scope of design by participating in landscape plan establishments and urban planning in Jeju. Under the concept of “Designing Jeju," he applies design in various ranges.
