허정옥 원장은 부산대학교와 부경대학교에서 경영학을 공부했으며, University of Baltimore에서 MBA를 취득했다. 탐라대학교에서 평생교육원장, 대학원장 직을 수행하였고, ICC JEJU의 대표이사 사장을 역임한 바 있다. 컨벤션과 도시경영, 컨벤션과 도시관광 등의 저서 및 MICE 참가자의 만족도와 충성도간 도시이미지의 매개효과 등의 논문이 다수 있다. 서울과학종합대학원의 레저경영대학원장을 거쳐 현재 제주평생교육진흥원의 원장 업무를 수행하고 있다.

President JeongOk Hur studied business administration at Pusan National University and Pukyong National University and earned an MBA at the University of Baltimore.
