쉐천 박사는 전략연구소 연구위원, 상해국제문제연구소 해양극지연구센터 연구원, 상해 인민친선연구회 위원이다. 1994년에 상해국제문제연구소에 입사한 이후 아시아-태평양 및 미국학 연구에 전념해왔다. 쉐천 박사는 특히 한반도와 동아시아 해양 안보에 관한 중문 및 영문 연구물 발간으로 중국에서 사회과학 분야 상을 다수 수상했다. CGTN과 피닉스 TV 등 중국의 주류 TV 프로그램 논평에 출현한바 있다. 푸단 대학교에서 박사 학위를 수여 받았으며, 존스 홉킨스 난징 센터동문이다.

Dr. XUE Chen is a Research Fellow at Institute for Strategic Studies and fellow at Center for Maritime & Polar Region Studies, Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS). He is also a council member of Shanghai Society for People’s Friendship Studies (SSPFS). Joined in SIIS in 1994, Dr. Xue focused on Asia-Pacific and American Studies. Specifically he’s been working on the Korean Peninsula and East Asia maritime security with Chinese and English publications and policy reports, which won a number of social scientific awards in China. Dr. Xue is often invited to give commentaries on China’s mainstream TV programs such as CGTN and Phoenix TV. He got his Ph.D. at Fudan University and also alumnus of Johns-Hopkins Nanjing Center.
