헤리버트 힌첸은 지속 가능한 개발을위한 성인 교육 및 평생 학습에 대한 수석 컨설턴트다. 그는 탄자니아의 성인 교육 및 개발 비교 연구로 하이델베르크 대학에서 박사 학위를 받았다. 거의 40 년 동안 그는 시에라 리온, 헝가리, 라오스의 본사와 사무실에서 DVV International의 리더십으로 일했다. 이전에는 현재 PIMA의 ICAE 및 EAEA의 부사장이었다. 그는 2000년 다카르에서 열린 세계교육포럼 독일 대표단과 2015년 인천에서 열린 국제교육포럼 독일 대표단에 참석했다.
현재 그는 페츠대학교에서 명예 교수로 재직하고 있으며 뷔르츠부르크대학교에서 비교 성인 교육을 가르치고 있다. 최근 연구에는 인기있는 성인 학습 및 교육 (ALE)의 공공 재정에 관한 연구와 아프리카 및 아시아 국가의 커뮤니티 학습 센터 상태에 대한 기여가 포함된다. 그의 전문적인 작업을 통해 그는 이야기와 노래, 수수께끼 및 속담 형태의 구술 문학 컬렉션을 포함하여 지역 사회 기반 ALE 및 다양한 문해에 큰 관심을 보였다. 그는 2013 년 서울에서 한국 유네스코와 APCEIU의 글로벌 시민 교육에 관한 기술 자문에 참여했다.

Prof.(H) Dr. Dr. h. c. mult. Hinzen is a senior consultant on adult education and lifelong learning for sustainable development. He earned a doctorate from the University of Heidelberg with a comparative study Adult Education and Development in Tanzania. Almost four decades he worked in the leadership for DVV International in headquarters and offices in Sierra Leone, Hungary, and Lao PDR. Earlier he has been Vice-President of ICAE and EAEA, now of PIMA. He was a Member of the CONFINTEA VI Consultative Group, the UN Literacy Decade Expert Group, and on the German Delegations to the World Education Forum 2000 in Dakar, and 2015 in Incheon.
Today he serves as Honorary Professor at the University of Pecs, and teaches in comparative adult education at the University of Würzburg. Recent researches include contributions to the Study on the Public Financing of Popular Adult Learning and Education (ALE) and on the State of Community Learning Centres in African and Asian countries. Throughout his professional work he has shown a keen interest in community-based ALE and the variety of literacies, including the collection of oral literature in the form of stories and songs, riddles and proverbs. He joined the Technical Consultation on Global Citizenship Education by UNESCO, Republic of Korea and APCEIU in Seoul, 2013.
