Jiseok Kim has been working as a climate and energy expert at Greenpeace East Asia. After completing a double major in Economics and Environmental Studies at Brown University in the U.S., he obtained a master's degree in Environmental Management at Yale University. He worked on climate change issues including EU automobile CO2 regulation compliance, green car strategy and renewable energy projects.at Hyundai Motor Company. Between 2008 and 2018, Jiseok worked at the British Embassy in Korea as a Climate Change and Energy Officer and Energy Innovation Officer, to accelerate the response of the Korean government and companies to climate change. After publishing a book titled ‘Climate Recession’ in 2014, he started building solar power plants, and now supplies pollution-free electricity to about 500 households.

2019년부터 그린피스 서울사무소에서 기후에너지 전문위원으로 활동하고 있다. 미국 브라운 대학에서 경제학/환경학을 복수전공한 후, 예일환경대학원에서 환경경영학 석사학위를 취득하고 2004년부터 2008년까지 현대자동차 기획실에서 유럽 자동차 CO2 규제 준수, 친환경차 전략, 재생에너지 프로젝트 검토 등 기후변화 대응 업무를 담당했다. 2008년부터 2018년까지 주한영국대사관에서 기후변화에너지 담당관, 에너지혁신담당관으로 근무하며 한국 정부와 기업의 기후변화 대응을 앞당기기 위해 노력했다. 2014년에 <기후불황>이라는 책을 출간한 후, 태양광발전소를 만들기 시작해 현재 약 500가구에 무공해 전기를 공급하고 있다.
