Dr. Alexei N. BORISOV graduated from Moscow State University of International Relations (MGIMO-University) in 2002 and Space Engineering Academy, St. Petersburg in 1993. The topic of his Ph.D dissertation (2003) was "Evolution of political system during transformation of totalitarian regimes". 1993-1998, Deputy Chairman, St. Petersburg Regional Branch of the United Nations Association of Russia. From 2002 to the present, Chairholder of the UNESCO Chair on Human Rights and Democracy, MGIMO-University. In June, 2004 Dr. AIexey Borisov successfully finished the UNESCO Leaders Course at UNESCO Training Centre, San Sebastian, Spain. Under his guidance two new courses started at UNESCO Chair this year -"Dialogue of Civilizations" and "Russians living abroad". From 2001 to the present, First Deputy Chairman of the UNA-Russia. In October 2015, he contributed to the organization of the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the United Nations. In November 2015, he became Chairman of the Executive Committee of the World Federation of UN Associations. He participated in numerous conferences and seminars: The UN in a globalizing world", "The International Model of United Nations", "Symposium of UNESCO Chairholder", "Actual problems of the state and society in the area of human rights and freedoms and citizen", "Actual problems of law and the state in the XXI century ", "The contribution of the scientific community", "United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development", "Global Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations". He has published over 200 conference papers and monographs. Alexey Borisov has also been actively involved in the development of annual report "Regions of Russia and the sustainable development goals."
