이영성 교수는 현재 서울대학교 환경대학원의 도시 및 지역계획학 전공 소속으로서, 도시 및 지역경제학, 기반시설론, 스마트시티의 계획과 관리, 통일과 도시계획을 강의하며 연구하고 있다. 학계에서는 한국지역학회지인 ‘지역연구’의 편집위원장과 대한국토도시계획학회가 간행하는 국제학술지인 ‘International Journal of Urban Science’의 공동 편집위원장을 역임했다. 또한 국토교통부의 수도권정비실무위원으로 활동한 바 있다. 현재 주된 관심분야로는 4차 산업혁명 시대의 신산업 생태계와 육성 방안, 스마트시티, 남북 협력, 모빌리티 혁명과 도시계획이 있다.

Youngsung Lee is Professor at Seoul National University. He teaches urban and regional economics, infrastructure planning, smart city planning, and cost-benefit analysis. His recent research interest covers policies and planning for new industries in the 4th industrial revolution, smart city planning, city regeneration, etc. He was Senior Editor of International Journal of Urban Science between 2017 and 2019, and also was Editor of Korean Journal of Regional Science between 2015 and 2017. He also worked as a committee member of Seoul Metropolitan Area Readjustment Working Committee between 2015-2019.
