Dr. Buthe is a spatial economist who works for Federal Institute for Research on Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development (BBSR) within the Federal Office for Building and Regional Planning (BBR) of Germany. He was a management consultant at GmbH in Essen and has been a research project manager in BBSR. He got Ph.D. in economics from University of Münster. He has considerable expertise in infrastructure plan, regional planning and analysis of spatial effectiveness of transport investment. His recent works are ‘Demographic prognoses: with assumption into the future (2018)’, ‘Spatial organization of goods traffic (2014)’, ‘European transport corridors and regional development(2012)’, and ‘New prospects for airports and cities (2011)’.
