Dr. Sung Gyu Kim obtained his MA degree from Seoul National University and Ph.D. degree from Free Uni.(FU) Berlin(Sociology) in 2007, and was a researcher of Otto-Suhr-Institute of FU Berlin until 2007. In Korea he was an expert committeeman of Economic and Social Development Commission of Korea and senior research fellow of KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency). He works now at Seoul National University Asia Center (SNUAC) as a Senior Research Fellow. His main research areas include ODA policy of South Korea and international development cooperation. He has published <A study about social opportunities and a safety net in developing countries>, <A support strategy for job creation in developing country>, <ODA and support strategy for private company>, <Saemaul-Undong ODA and Development Cooperation>, <Global CSR and development cooperation>, <Post-2015 development goals (Post MDGs) in the view point of donor agency> etc. He is also active in Korea Association of International development and cooperation(KAIDEC) as an executive director.

서울대학교 사회학과에서 석사, 독일 베를린 자유대학교(FU Berlin)에서 박사학위를 받았으며, 오토주어인스티튜트 연구원을 지냈다. 한국에서는 경제사회발전노사정위원회(Economic and Social Development Commission of Korea) 전문위원, 한국국제협력단(KOICA)에서 선임연구위원으로 재직했으며, 현재 서울대학교 아시아연구소 (Seoul National University Asia Center (SNUAC)) 선임연구원으로 재직 중이다. 주요 연구 분야는 국제개발협력과 한국의 ODA 정책이며, 주요 저서와 논문으로는 <개도국 사회적 기회와 안전망 확대 방안 연구>, <개도국 일자리 창출 지원 방안 연구>, <개도국 민간기업 형성 방안 연구>, <새마을운동 ODA 와 개발협력>, <기업의 글로벌 공헌(Global CSR)과 개발협력>, <공여기관 시각에서 본 분야별 Post-2015 개발목표(Post-MDGs)> 등이 있다. 국제개발협력학회(KAIDEC) 상임이사로도 활동 중이다.
