곽진규는 1967년 서울 출생으로 경희대 졸업 후 니혼대(Nihon Univ.)에서 MBA를 취득하고 2002년 JDC(제주국제자유도시개발센터)의 창립멤버로 입사하여 홍보실장, 영업처장, 기획조정실장, 미래투자처장 등을 역임하였다. 현재는 국제자유도시 개발에 필요한 재원조달 기능의 면세사업단 총괄 책임자로서 ‘제주형’ 국제자유도시 조성이라는 기관의 설립목적에 부합한, 지역상품의 국제화 방안 모색 등 JDC 면세사업의 역할 재정립에 많은 고민과 관심을 기울이고 있다.

Born in Seoul in 1967, Kwak earned an MBA degree from Nihon University after graduating from Kyunghee Univ. and joined JDC (Jeju Free International City Development Center) in 2002 as an original member. He has since held the post of various position such as public relations, sales, planning and coordination, and future investment. Currently, as the director general of duty-free business group that finances the development of free international city, he is paying much attention to redefining the role of JDC duty-free business, including seeking ways to internationalize local products that meet the purpose of the agency’s establishment of “Jeju-type” free international city.
