양기철 국장은 현재 제주특별자치도청에서 관광업무를 총괄하는 관광국장으로 재직하고 있으며 사단법인 제주컨벤션뷰로 이사장을 겸임하고 있다. 이전에는 감사위원회 사무국장, 국제통상국장, 특별자치과장 등의 주요 보직을 역임한 바 있다. 1968년 제주 애월읍 태생으로 한양대에서 법학을 전공하였으며 미국 콜로라도 주립대학에서 행정학석사 학위를 취득했다.

Mr Gi-Cheol Yang currently serves as the Director General of Tourism Bureau in charge of the entire tourism industry in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province. And he is holding a post as the chairman of the Jeju Convention and Visitors Bureau as well. Previously, he was appointed to roles of great importance such as an executive secretary of the Audit Committee, the director of the International Trade Dept., and the Director of the Special Self-governing Dept.. Mr Yang was born in 1968 in Aewol, Jeju. He studied Law at Hanyang University, Seoul for his bachelor’s degree and earned a master's degree in Public Administration from Colorado State University, US.
