정강자위원장은 2016년부터 전국 340여개 시민사회단체 상설 연대기구인 시민사회단체연대회의 공동대표로 활동하고 있으며, 2019년 2월에는 국가인권위원회 혐오차별 대응 특별추진위원회 공동위원장으로 선출되었다. 이화여자대학교를 졸업한 후 한국여성민우회 공동대표, 남녀차별개선위원회 위원, 최저임금위원회 위원, 국가인권위원회 비상임위원 및 상임위원, 인하대 법학전문대학원 초빙교수 등 오랫동안 시민사회와 국가기관 및 대학에서 인권 보호와 증진을 위한 활동을 하고 있다. 국가인권위원회 상임위원으로 재직하는 동안 장애·여성·성소수자·인종 등을 이유로 차별받는 상황에 대한 개선을 위하여 많은 노력을 기울였다.

Jung Kangja is currently serving as a co-chair of the Civil Society Organizations, which is a permanent organization established by an alliance of more than 340 Korean domestic NGOs. Since February 2019, she has been serving as a co-chair of the Special Committee on Hatred & Discrimination of NHRCK. After her graduation from Ewha Womans University, she has worked on for protection and promotion of human rights as a co-chair of Korea Women Link, a member of Committee on the Elimination of Gender Discrimination, Minimum Wage Commission, a Commissioner of NHRCK, as well as a visiting professor of Inha University Law School. While working as a Standing Commissioner of NHRCK, she put great effort into reducing discrimination on the basis of disability, gender, sexual orientation, and ethnicity.
