문성종은 제주한라대학교 교수로, 미국 네바다주립대학교 라스베이거스 캠퍼스에서 호텔경영학을 전공하고 한양대학교 관광경영학 박사학위를 취득, 1995년부터 제주한라대학교에서 교편을 잡고 있다.
대통령 직속 정책기획위원회 위원이며 제주상공회의소 지역경제연구원 연구위원이다.
문 교수의 주요 연구 분야는 생태관광과 축제 행사 기획이며, 환경관광 및 관광관리와 관련된 이슈들을 지속적으로 연구하고 있다.

Sung Jong Moon is the Professor of Cheju Halla University. He is completed his a master’s of Hotel management at University of Nevada, Las Vegas, USA and a PH. D. in tourism management Hanyang University, Korea. He started his teaching career at Cheju Halla University in 1995.
He is a member of the Presidential Commission on Policy Planning and a research fellow at the Jeju Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Regional Economic Research Institute.
Professor Moon’s research area is focus on the eco tourism and festival event. He continually presents on issues related to eco tourism and tourism management.
