마고 오카자와 레이 박사는 샌프란시스코 주립 대학교의 명예교수이다. 현재는 미국 캘리포니아 오클랜드 밀즈대학의 바바라 리 여성리더쉽의 특임 의장이자 여성, 젠더, 성 및 공공정책전공 방문교수로 재직하고 있다. 지난 25년 동안 그녀의 연구 및 활동의 주요 영역은 군사주의, 무력 분쟁, 그리고 여성에 대한 폭력이다. 오카자와 레이 교수는 한국 의정부의 두레방 국제자문위원회 위원, 스위스 베른의 세계평화여성국제위원회 위원, 그리고 미국 테네시 주 뉴 마켓의 하이랜더 교육연구센터 공동 의장을 맡고 있다.

최근 논문과 저서로는 <미국 반군사주의 페미니스트들을 위한 "국가화" 연합과 연대 정치>(출간중), <연대 없는 자유가 가능한가 : 지속가능한 페미니스트 연대를 꿈꾸다>(2018), <절망의 삶: 동남아시아의 여성, 권력, 그리고 변화>(2018), <하이랜더 교육연구센터와 협력하고 있는 리버럴 아츠 칼리지 : 학생 캠퍼스 운동과 개인 변혁을 위한 세대 간 학습>(2018) 등이 있다.

Dr. Margo Okazawa-Rey is Barbara Lee Distinguished Chair in Women’s Leadership and Visiting Professor of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and of Public Policy at Mills College in Oakland, California. She is also Professor Emerita at San Francisco State University. Her primary areas of research and activism for the past 25 years have been militarism, armed conflict, and violence against women, examined intersectionally. Professor Okazawa-Rey serves on the International Advisory Board of Du Re Bang in Uijongbu South Korea, International Board of Peace Women Across the Globe in Bern, Switzerland, and Board Co-chair of Highlander Research and Education Center in New Market, Tennessee, USA.
