Associate Professor
John Delury is associate professor of Chinese Studies at Yonsei University Graduate School of International Studies in Seoul, South Korea. A historian of modern China, his first book, Wealth and Power: China’s Long March to the Twenty-First Century, co-authored with Orville Schell, was published by Random House in 2013, and translated into Chinese, Japanese and Korean, and he is now working on a book on US-China relations in the early Cold War period. He also follows Korean Peninsula affairs closely, writing regularly for Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, Global Asia and 38 North. John is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, National Committee on US-China Relations, National Committee on North Korea, and senior fellow at the Asia Society [New York] and Pacific Century Institute [Los Angeles]. He taught briefly at Brown, Columbia, and Peking Universities, and was associate director of Asia Society's Center on US-China Relations. He received his BA, MA and PhD in history from Yale University, and has lived in Seoul with his wife and their three children since 2010.

존 들러리는 연세대학교 국제대학원 중국학 부교수다. 현대 중국사 전문 역사학자로, 첫 저서 Wealth and Power: China’s Long March to the Twenty-First Century (랜덤하우스, 2013년)를 오빌 쉘과 공동집필해 중국어, 일본어, 한국어로 번역되었으며, 현재 냉전 초기 미중관계를 다룬 책을 집필 중이다. 한반도 문제에 대한 연구로 Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, Global Asia, 38 North 등에 정기적으로 기고하고 있다. 또한, 미국 외교협회 (CFR), 미중관계전국연구회, 국립북한연구회 회원이자 뉴욕 아시아소사이어티와 LA 태평양세기연구소 선임연구원으로 활동하고 있다. 브라운대학교, 콜럼비아대학교, 북경대학교에서 가르친 바 있으며, 아시아 소사이어티 미중관계센터 부소장을 역임했다. 예일대학교에서 학사, 석사, 박사과정을 졸업하였다.
